Our Lady of the Lake University's Woolfolk School of Communication Sciences and Disorder invites applications for a full-time, 10-month tenure track faculty member at the associate or full professor rank in Speech-Language Pathology. Initial responsibilities include developing curriculum and seeking external funding for a new clinical doctorate program in Speech-Language Pathology (SLPD). Upon admission of the initial doctoral cohort, responsibilities will include teaching doctoral level courses, conducing research in the applicant's areas of expertise, doctoral student advisement, and service to the school, college, university, community and profession. Following establishment of the SLPD program, responsibilities will include coordination of the clinical doctorate program.
Our Lady of the Lake University is a nationally ranked non-profit university located in San Antonio, Texas. The Woolfolk School is housed within the College of Professional Studies and includes the Harry Jersig Speech-Language-Hearing Center. The Center offers diagnostic and treatment services to children and adults for a variety of communication and swallowing disorders, and houses labs in child language, multicultural diversity, and voice and swallowing. The Woolfolk School consists of a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders Program, a Communication Sciences and Disorders Post Baccalaureate Leveling Program, and a Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders Program.
Qualified candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field, have a minimum of 3 years clinical experience with the ASHA CCC-SLP, have a minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the university level, and be able to obtain Texas licensure in Speech-Language Pathology. In addition, applicants should have a strong history of funded research, inter-professional collaboration and leadership. The position will begin in August 2020.
