Two SLP positions available to join our current staff of ten Speech-Language Pathologists in providing broad based, cutting-edge services at one of Texas' leading academic health science centers.
These positions will have a primarily acute care focus in a level I trauma hospital and its associated clinics.
The UTMB Center for Audiology and Speech Pathology provides a variety of inpatient and outpatient services for hearing, communication, balance and swallowing. Speech-language pathology acute inpatient and outpatient services include :
Bedside clinical and instrumental swallowing evaluations
Modified barium swallow services
Videostroboscopy and aerodynamic assessment
Speech-language and cognitive-linguistic assessments and treatment
Neurogenic diagnostics and treatment
Head and neck cancer rehabilitation
Opportunities: Advanced clinicians have additional opportunities for precepting of CF candidates and supervision of graduate students. All SLP's have opportunities for on-site education of medical students and medical residents.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree, ASHA certification CCC-SLP, and eligibility for Texas Speech-Language Pathology license. Preferred applicants will have prior experience in acute care and dysphagia. Bilingual (Spanish) is helpful.
