Virginia Mason’s Cochlear Implant Program, part of The Listen For Life Center at Virginia Mason, is the first and largest pediatric and adult cochlear implant center in the Pacific Northwest. You will work alongside our two cochlear implant audiologists as well as our Center’s two fellowship trained and nationally recognized neuro-otologists. In addition to CI services, you will work with our nine audiologists to provide diagnostic, hearing aid, and bone-anchored implant services. Additional opportunities for vestibular and ABR testing are available. Interest in participating in clinical research with our neurotologists and/or initiating your own projects is encouraged. Satellite travel once-a-week is possible.

Cochlear implant experience highly preferred (preference for 2 years experience)
Pediatric experience preferred
Electrophysiology experience preferred
Working knowledge of devices and products available to meet the needs of people with hearing loss
Working knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of auditory and vestibular system
An awareness of the psycho-social impact of a hearing loss on an individual's ability to function
Working knowledge of communication/education options for helping children with hearing loss reach their potential
Working knowledge of the chronology and timeline for the normal development of speech, hearing and language skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required for this position, as well as skill to properly assess and treat a wide variety of patients with various degrees and types of hearing loss
This position requires a licensure for dispensing hearing aids within the State of Washington
